The only way to live is to live fearlessly. Like a child, children are fearless as they explore the world daily. They are more creative, more open, able to adapt to situations very quickly while enjoying the change and all that comes with it. Their lives are limitless!

Fear comes with limitations, it’s a package deal. Your fear of not having enough, being alone, not being accepted, not being good enough, not living up to someone’s or everyone’s expectation – they all trap you in a box! An unhealthy amount of energy is spent analyzing these feeling which in turn dictate your actions. Unsure and certainly unable to live free.

Every normal fear has the potential of becoming an exaggerated fear if you continue to feed it. The more you give into your fears, they more they will grow. Avoidance of “fear” doesn’t lessen it, it feeds it. Suddenly you’re stuck in your comfort zone to avoid what your fear, Contrary to popular belief, you must face it head on to move past it.

The only thing standing in the way of you and your freedom…is fear. Who’s going to win?

We all love Nourish & Shine! It’s multi-purpose product that you can reach for to hydrate hair, scalp and/or skin. It’s formulated it with the moisturizing ingredients like Shea butter, Kokum butter, Illippe butter, Mango butter, Vitamins A, D, & E, pear and grapefruit essential oils. Some of these ingredients have dual benefits for hair AND skin!

Mango is reputed to be extremely high in Vitamin A, C and Beta Carotine. The extract is often used in formulations to prevent the formation of wrinkles and the drying of skin. By preventing the degeneration of skin cells, flexibility of the skin is restored.

Grapefruit is also high in Vitamin C and has impressive properties when the extract is applied to the skin. It soothes skin irritation, restores an even texture and increases the skin’s glow.

Nourish & Shine…as close to perfection as perfection can get!

Count Your Strands

Shedding, it really is normal. We typically lose 50 to 100 strands per day even though the amount of hair differs for each person. It’s unavoidable as it is a normal process of the growth cycle in which strands detach from the follicle to make was for new hair to grow in its place.

There are some instanced where excessive shedding may be a sign of a more serious condition:

  • Shedding vs. Breakage - If the strands do not have a tiny white bulb attached to the end of it than you’re experiencing breakage rather than shedding. Nutritional deficiency, dehydration and/or improper hair care could be the offender.
  • Excessive Shedding - If the hair strands in your styling tools or your bathroom counter and floor seems to have increased, you may need to contact your dermatologist.
Many women experience excessive shedding during hormonal changes or while
    under stress.
  • Shedding vs. Baldness - Baldness occurs when the rate of hair loss is significantly faster than the rate if hair growth. Aging and genetics do play a part in this but if you are experiencing bald patches due to excessive shedding, you should visit your dermatologist immediately!

When You Garden, You Grow

Every April communities, organizations, and individuals nationwide celebrate gardening during National Garden Month. Gardeners know, and research confirms, that nurturing plants is good for us: attitudes toward health and nutrition improve, kids perform better at school, and community spirit grows.

Plant trees to create sustainable landscaping or create a bird-friendly backyard…the options are endless. If you don’t feel like getting your hands “dirty”, here are some ideas to get the entire family involved:

  • Visit a green house or nursery.
  • Talk about the differences of a flower garden and a vegetable garden.
  • Learn about the different parts of a plant.
  • Volunteer to help in a community garden project.
  • Have a plant swap party.
  • Host a garden poetry party.

Ready. Set. Go plan your own plant adventure.

Live Life

“Life should be lived to the fullest regardless of the pain, here today for a better tomorrow.”

Nobody gets through life without losing someone they love, someone they need, or something they thought was meant to be. Crushing yes, but is these losses that make us stronger and eventually move us toward future opportunities for growth and happiness. I know there are situations that naturally knock us down and off course, it happens to the best of us. Pressing forward and growing stronger with a new greater understanding of life is essential!

Push through the pain and ALWAYS remember:

  • You are not what happened to you in the past.
  • Focus on what you have, not what you do not have.
  • Life is more fragile, sudden and shorter than it seems.
  • You have the capacity to create your own happiness.
  • Giving up and moving on are two different things; know the difference.
  • Resentment hurts you, not them.
  • Nurture your inner hope always.
  • Not getting what you want can be a blessing.
  • Mistakes are inevitable; learn the lesson in the process.
  • You are only competing against yourself.
  • You always have a choice.
  • The end is in fact a new beginning.

Here’s to a better tomorrow!
