I was having this discussion the other day regarding “natural hair stereotypes”.

We first discussed how shocking it is that these types of broad assumptions still exist in such a progressive world. (rolls eyes) As more and more women transition to natural hair, people have become curious and have questions.

We then decided to dive head first, pun intended, into the comments, questions and suggestions that people send in our direction simply because of the texture of our hair! That is expected but what was not expected is that people would place you in a box.

Has anyone assumed the following about you?

• that you only listen to neo-soul R&B music

• that your burn incense and oils

• that you are vegan

• that you hate women with relaxers
