Beauty Benefits of Honey

Honey is one of nature’s best gifts to us! Both sweet and healing, this sticky substance has uses in the kitchen, medicine cabinet and beauty drawer. Not only does honey contain antioxidants, but it also hosts vitamins and minerals - making it a valued commodity for centuries.

Bath-Add a cup of organic honey to your bath water to take advantage of honey’s great hydrating benefits

Intensify Your Deep Conditioner-Just one tablespoon added to conditioner will intensify hydration.

Anti-Aging Mask-Whisk an egg white with a spoonful of organic honey (the darker the more antioxidants) and rub unto your face. Relax for 10 minutes then gently rinse honey mask off with warm water.

Sleep-Try a spoonful of honey before bed as a natural cure to insomnia or sleepless nights.

Prevent Infection-Rub a little honey on a cut to prevent infection.

Are there any other ways that you utilize honey? Please share with the Jane Carter Solution hair community…

Eating for your Hair

The same diet that keeps your body healthy promotes healthy hair. A diet that’s centered on fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, moderate amounts of red meat and whole grains is beneficial for both your hair and your body. Reduce the amount of fat in your diet and avoid high-carbohydrate foods.

Eating a healthy diet will keep your scalp healthy and help you keep what you’ve got! Here are 4 tips for hair re-growth:

  • Drink lots of water. If you don’t hydrate your body, your hair follicles will not be healthy enough to produce the keratin you need to re-grow your hair
  • Drink green tea. The more green tea you drink the more DHT blockers you get into your system and the more you reduce your chances of balding
  • Consume protein. Eggs are a great source of protein and also contain biotin, which will help your hair follicles produce keratin and make your hair strong

Remember, the effects of thinning hair can be lessened by eating a variety of foods that can help re-nourish your hair follicles and a little TLC with the help of Jane Carter Solution products.

Tangerine to Combat Winter Skin

Winter can be so harsh on our skin, making us flaky and dry…totally unacceptable! If you’re anything like me, you are a fan of having clear, smooth, moisturized skin; great skin = happy skin = happy me. What is your skin currently telling you it needs?

Tangerines are delicious to eat and have amazing cosmetic properties. These fruits are very high on Vitamin C and P, mineral salts and pro vitamin A, all of which help in improving and rejuvenating the skin. Oatmeal and dried orange peel are excellent for gently exfoliating the dead skin cells from your face. Honey is naturally antibacterial and is wonderfully cleansing, and also is good for tightening your skin.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup steel-cut oatmeal (you can substitute instant unflavored oatmeal)
    juice from 1 whole tangerine
  • 3 tablespoons plain yogurt with active cultures (Greek yogurt is great for this!)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons dried orange peel (found in the spice aisle of most grocery stores)

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, stir until well-mixed and combined. You’re looking for a consistency that is thick enough to stay on your face without sliding; you can always add extra oatmeal to thicken. Spread onto your freshly washed and dried face in an even layer, being careful to avoid the eye area. Leave on for 15-30 minutes. Rinse this mask off with warm water. Pat dry and hydrate skin!

Does your skin deserve a moisturizing fruit facial this winter?
